The Archdiocese of Madras - Mylapore mandates that every parish should have a Parish Council. A Parish Council as envisaged by the Catholic Church is a body represented by members of the parish community covering all areas of the parish, along with those members that are nominated by the Parish Priest. The role of the Parish Council is consultative in nature, i.e., it is a body which the Parish Priest consults on a periodic basis to discuss matters concerning the various activities of the parish.
In our parish, the members of the Parish Council are elected from all the zones of the Parish and some are nominated by the Parish Priest and some are ex-officio members.
